At the age of 15, I was obsessed with music. I played the guitar, loud and proud, and dreamed of entertaining millions.
My first paying job in this business was as a guitar technician at the age of 16. I spent the next seven years working and improving as a roadie and backline tech for local and national touring acts. I learned everything I could about the music industry, from the ground up and from some very late nights that blended into morning.
Some might say I was super fortunate to have met many famous artists during this time. Two of my most cherished memories include drinking a tequila shot with Robert Plant at a bar in Washington, D.C., and getting to play Stevie Ray Vaughan's famous "Number One" guitar backstage before his passing. But it was more than just the celebrities that fascinated me. It was the people behind the scenes who made the show happen that I gravitated toward.
My guitar playing and technician job fulfilled a lot of my musical interests. But after a while, I realized I wanted more options. I wanted a career that would allow me to build a business and leave a lasting impact on the music industry. So I gave college a try to teach me technology and business skills. I've run and sold two companies while having a 30-year career in technology, and after many years of helping companies with their technology investment decisions in North America and Europe, I'm returning to make a positive impact in my local community.
I started Performa Alpha in the summer of 2023. It's a company that invests in businesses that support live performance. I'm not doing this for myself. I'm doing it for all the roadies, stagehands, and backline techs out there. The part time musicians and full time workers trying to make ends meet supporting this industry. You're the heroes behind the scenes, and I see you.
Performa Alpha is more than just an investment company. It's a family with an ideology of improving the lives of everyone who shows up first and leaves last. And I want you to be a part of it.
Join me in building a better future for those who support live performance.

Like you perhaps, I still love performing and playing guitar. During COVID, my friends and I saw so many great online collabs between musicians, that we too wanted to play together again. Here's a link to a collab I did with people I've called close friends for over 30 years now.
